CHAPTER 16

The book

Clinton had made his way back to the Hotel and back with the England squad and was just settling down to have a nice quick shower and then straight to sleep, when there was a knock at his door.

Clinton answered the door and stood there in an England cricket track suite was Cresandra Drake, with a stressed look on her face.

 

“Hi Clinton” Cresandra said as she put her hand to his chest and pushed him back into his room

“What are you doing here, you are taking a risk aren’t you” Clinton replied as he pushed her hand away from his chest

 

“yes I am but I needed to see you, I have heard what happened to your grandmother and who did it, I will tell you soon who it was but you need to listen to me first” Cresandra replied

 

“YOU WHAT” Clinton shouted

 

“Clinton shush be quite people will hear” Cresandra replied as she put her figure to Clinton’s mouth

 

“OK but you tell me who this person is so they can pay for my Nan’s death” Clinton replied

 

“Yes his name is Jason Bartholomew; he was put up to it by Curtis and I don’t know what was said to Curtis but he is frightened and is packing to leave the country I believe he phoned me earlier and The Boss is on his case as well” Cresandra replied

 

“so who is this Jason guy then, where is he and we need to tell the Police and as for Curtis there is no where he can hide because I will find him, no matter how far or how long” Clinton replied

 

“Jason is holed up at my place, under the protection of the police, he has not been arrested yet, reason being he is helping them with their enquiries and wants to strike a deal with them and if we had the book and the names we could do a lot more, I know your Nan told you where it is, but I don’t want you to do anything until we have the names off Jason to match with the book, that is where I come in, I will spend some time with him tomorrow, while you are playing and get the names off him, once I have them and the police have them, we can get the book and cross match the names and bang we have them all, except Charlie King that is, his body was found at the bottom of a mountain in Spain below the burnt out wreck of a Villa owned by a Juan Sebastian with a bullet in his head and his shoulder, someone that no one has ever heard of, so it is safe to assume that, this is an alias for the boss I am sure of it, it was only your Nan and myself who know the real name of the Boss, I can’t say anything because of Daniel, so that is why we must get the book out in the open and in the public domain” Cresandra replied with a worried look on her face as there was another knock on the door

 

“Get in the cupboard and stay there till I come and get you” Clinton told Cresandra

 

Clinton walked to the door and stood there was Matthew Thomas.

 

“Hi Matthew what can I do for you at this time of night” Clinton asked

 

“Just to say sorry to hear about your grandmother and congratulations on the birth of your twins and can I do an interview soon” Matthew Thomas replied

 

Cresandra was in Cupboard and had a look of shock on her face at what Matthew Thomas had said to Clinton she muttered under her breath “Isabella has had twins, those kids are now at risk because of the boss”

 

Clinton looked at Matthew Thomas and said “Look Matthew I need some time to digest what has just happened tonight and will be in touch with you soon”

 

“OK” Matthew Thomas replied and turned on his heels and headed away from Clinton’s hotel room, Clinton shutting the door and walking to the cupboard to speak to Cresandra.

 

“Ok Cresandra you can come out now, Matthew has gone” Clinton said

 

“Look Clinton, you need to get Isabella and the twins to a safe place, while the boss still thinks you have the book he will stop at nothing to get it and if that means grabbing Isabella and the twins for his own means and gains he will, bear in mind he took my son from me to get what he wanted and now look at me, I sleep with any old Tom, Dick or Harry for what a few miserly quid, to get people to do what the boss wants by black mailing them” Cresandra said to Clinton.

 

“Listen Cresandra, what exactly will he do to Isabella and the twins” Asked Clinton

 

“Well put it this way he has been known to threaten to feed the Babies to the wolves, he will also not hesitate to kill Isabella and kill her nastily and with some pain, so she will beg for her life and he will have to end it for her but first he will inflict pain and a lot of it” Cresandra replied to Clinton

 

Clinton walked to the bathroom and was physically sick at what Cresandra had just told him, he then walked back into the bedroom and said to Cresandra “Well thank god that Isabella and the kids are staying in for a few days and I will then get them to a safe haven”

 

“Well if you are sure of it, Clinton then play the game tomorrow and then get straight to the hospital and take Isabella and the twins to that safe haven, but first you must get the book from the safe deposit box as that is your bargaining tool with the boss, but please promise me you will get the bastard and bring him down, all I will say is you will be shocked at who the boss is, but don’t let that cloud your judgment, you must from now on put Isabella and the twins first and for most your priority, I will talk to Jason Bartholomew and go to the police with him, hopefully he can get a smaller sentence as the boss was holding his wife and children and now they are free, he will more than likely talk to the police” Cresandra replied

 

“Look Cresandra, you need to do what you have got to do and I don’t blame Jason for what has happened as he had no option, so please tell him I show him no ill feelings, just make sure you get your Daniel and go to Ireland I have a very good friend there, I will forward you the details when you have Daniel, so go now and sort what you have got to sort out and I will do what I have got to do from my end and if all goes well we will meet again” Clinton replied

 

Clinton walked to the hotel room door, opened it and showed Cresandra out, Cresandra turned and looked at Clinton to whisper “Look after yourself my friend and never ever give up”

 

“You have two children now and that is all that should matter to you, you need to look after who matters, In the end Clinton we only regret the choices we made, the chances we never took and the people we trusted and let us down, what I am saying Clinton is do what your heart tells you to do and not your head, do what your grandmother would do in this situation and not me, take care and I will be in touch soon” Cresandra said to Clinton as she left his hotel room to go back home.

 

Cresandra walked out of the hotel and made her way home thinking that she had now made one of the biggest if not the biggest decision of her life, but she had done it for all the right reasons.

 

Clinton closed the door behind Cresandra and walked to the shower room to have a shower before going to bed, and then there was another knock on his door.

 

Clinton walked to the door and asked “Who is it; I am trying to have a shower before I go to bed I have had a hectic night”

 

“Clinton it is me again Cresandra I have one more thing to say to you” Cresandra replied

 

“OK I will let you in now” Clinton replied

 

 

Clinton opened the door to his Hotel room and let Cresandra in “What is so important that it can’t wait” Clinton asked.

 

“I have one more thing to say to you and this is very important as it could change the rest of your life” Cresandra looked at him with a serious look on her face.

 

“And what might that be then, what is so important that it could not wait” Clinton replied angrily

 

 “wish I could turn back time n prevent all my actions from the past 2yrs.
 I was trying to do what I thought best, it was never my intention to inflict pain n sorrow. For this I truly am deeply sorry for all the hurt. When did I became so cold-hearted nasty and get involved in this whole sorry mess but, I have to tell you this, your father James Radford is still alive and he is in this country and he will be in touch when the time is right to do so, he has asked me to tell you that the man behind all of this will be brought down”  Cresandra replied

“WHAT?” Clinton replied with a look of shock on his face

“Yes Clinton, your father James Radford is alive, he had to do what he did to protect you and your mother, your Grandmother knew but was sworn to secrecy, as you and your mother were in danger if it ever came out that he was still alive, but now your Grandmother has gone it is the right time to tell you as she asked me to some years ago, the book will expose who the boss is and when you do find out it will shock you and your family” Cresandra replied

“So who is the boss then my father James Radford?” Clinton asked

“NO James Radford is not the boss, you need to find that out for yourself,, your father is a good man and don’t ever think he is not what he did, he did for the best and for you and your mother and nothing else you and your mother were and still are the most important things to him and now you have children they will be to, all I will say is make sure you keep Isabella and the twins safe and out of the boss’s reach” Cresanda replied with a frown on her face

“Well who is the boss then can you tell me that?” Clinton asked

“No, I can’t Clinton my life would be in danger and that of my son, but it will all be revealed in the book and the letter with it, get the game tomorrow out of the way and then go and get the book and go straight and I mean straight to the Police and hand it to them, because if you don’t you, Isabella and the children will be at risk, this man is dangerous and believe me babies don’t matter to him, if they have to be killed they will be, he has in the past threatened to feed the babied to the dogs and have people watch them get torn apart just to have a bet on it that is how sick this man is and he will not hesitate to torture Isabella to, so as I said go straight to the police and only then will I take Jason in” Cresandra replied

“OK I got that straight to the Police, I will get Oliver to take Isabella and the children with him and mum to Scotland for a few days to get them safe and out of dangers way until they have got this man in custody” Clinton replied.

“Thank you for listening my friend, stay safe and remember what I told you earlier In the end Clinton we only regret the choices we made, the chances we never took and the people we trusted and let us down, what I am saying Clinton is do what your heart tells you to do and not your head, do what your grandmother would do in this situation and not me” Cresandra replied

Clinton just looked at her and nodded his head and whispered “Thank you”

“You’re welcome” Cresandra replied and left Clinton’s room, to make her way home and take Jason Bartholomew to the Police station to turn himself in but only after Clinton has the book and letter and taken it to the police.

Clinton retired to his bed to get some sleep after the hectic night he had, had with the death of his beloved grandmother and the birth of his twin daughter and anyone would have excused him if he was not to play the following days One Day International against the Australia, but Clinton knew he had to play if only for the memory of his grandmother, he knew now that he had to bring the boss down and get revenge for the death of his grandmother.

But he knew he had to speak to Oliver Kennedy to make sure that Isabella and the girls were safe and well, he would also try and find out where his father James Radford was so he could at last meet the man he had heard so much about, but that could wait until after he had played the game tomorrow and given the Australians another beating, even though both sides were in the midst of a betting and corruption controversy that he knew he could implicated in even though he knew himself he had not do anything wrong himself, now was the time for him to step up to the mark and become a man he was after all a father now and had a beautiful twins and his pretty wife to be, life would never be the same again for himself, Isabella and the girls after the name of the boss is revealed.

The following morning Clinton awoke at about seven in the morning after having only about four hours sleep after the previous night’s events, he had a knock on his door.

“Hello who is it” Clinton asked

“Clinton it’s your mother can I come in please” Clinton’s mother Chelsea replied

Clinton walked to the door opened it and stood outside it was Chelsea looking very gaunt, ashen faced and with bags under her eyes “Hi mum what can I do for you” Clinton asked

“Clinton I have just come to reiterate your grandmothers wishes even though I am not happy with what she wants you to do by playing today, it is what she wanted and I will have to go along with it, you go out there today and you play your heart out like you always have done and don’t back off, you were your grandmothers blue eyed boy and don’t let her, Isabella and the girls down today of all days, the Australians are there for the taking so take the chance and don’t ever back off for one moment” Chelsea replied with tears in her eyes.

Clinton looked into his mothers tear filled eyes and replied “I won’t” and put his arms around his mother and gave her a long hard cuddle crying himself on her shoulder.

Chelsea pulled Clinton off her shoulder and looked him in his tearful eyes and said “I know you won’t let anyone down because you are your fathers son” she then turned around opened the door and left , Clinton looking a bit bemused  at what his mother had said to him, thinking to himself “Does she know that my father is still alive or does she still believe he is dead” these were the things Clinton was to find out for himself in the coming weeks when a lot of heart rendering and heart breaking stuff would be revealed but he must now concentrate on the day ahead and the game he was just about to play in, room service had arrived with his scrambled eggs and toast along with orange juice and tea for his breakfast as he had been given permission to have his breakfast away from the rest of the tea after the previous nights events as he was very emotional.

 

 

 

 

 

At the Ground the Mark Nicholas, Michael Vaughan, Geoffrey Boycott and Alec Stewart were starting the coverage for the game on channel five and the topic of conversation was the four players two from each side that had been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to fix cricket matches.

“Good morning and welcome to channel five’s live coverage of the second one day international between England and Australia here at Trent Bridge we are on air thirty minutes early this morning because, the whole cricket world is in shock at what was announced just some thirty minutes ago, when news broke that England players David Miller and Terry Franklin, along with Hugh Price and Brad Cousins of Australia have this morning be charged with the following Conspiracy to defraud, Conspiracy to fix cricket matches and accepting corrupt payments, I will ask Michael Vaughan what he thinks of this news that has come out this morning,  Michael what are your thoughts” Mark Nicholas said looking at Michael Vaughan

“Good morning Mark and yes what a shock this coming out this morning, we had heard they had all be arrested and now they have been charged and very serious charges they are, they should all be banned for life and if found guilty the book should thrown at them, there is no place for this in the game and should be stamped out for ever, I believe the money made by the illegal bookmakers over the Asian continent is about twenty four billion a year” Michael Vaughan replied

“Geoffrey what are your thoughts this morning” Mark Nicholas asked as he looked at Geoffrey Boycott the camera spanning over to Geoffrey Boycott

“Mark this I believe is a land mark day for cricket, it is the first time that any players have been implicated and charged with this sort of thing and I believe from my sources that it was scoring runs and getting out, dropping catches, miss fields, a wide and no balls the whole shebang, so it is not just spot fixing it is the whole thing and yes if found guilty they should have the book thrown at them and never play this great game again” Geoffrey Boycott replied

“Excuse me guys we have to go to the studio where Simon Hughes has some more news for us, over to you Simon” Mark Nicholas said

“Thank you Mark, yes we have just heard that all four players have been remanded in custody and have had their passports taken from them, to appear in court again next week, it is over the our reporter outside East London magistrates court and our reporter Jenny Edwards” Simon Hughes said

“Yes Thank You Simon, the four players Terry Franklin, David Miller, Hugh Price and Brad Cousins have all been charged with accepting corrupt payments, fixing cricket matches, conspiracy to defraud and Franklin has also been charged with conspiracy to pervert the cause of justice, they have all been remanded in custody to appear back here at East London magistrates next Friday”

“Well what about that them Michael, a further charge for Terry Franklin of conspiracy to pervert the cause of justice” Mark Nicholas asked

“Well Mark, I can only surmise that Terry Franklin has tried to with hold some evidence and perverted the investigation process” Michael Vaughan replied

“Mark this is a great and a sad day for cricket, a great day because these four players have been caught yes, but a sad day because we all know this has been going on and have never been able to prove it, do we know how they found out about these four that is the question I would like answered” Alec Stewart said

“Alec I believe a book was sent to a national newspaper and these names were given to the police along with the book that from what I have been told has names of some famous sports stars from all over the world in the book, that’s just what my sources have told me” Geoffrey Boycott replied

“Well Geoffrey if that is right, this has opened a can of worms that none of us would have expected” Mark Nicholas replied

“Yes I believe it has Mark, but it has had to be done to expose the cheats in the game and show people that money isn’t everything in life and this believe me has far reaching ramifications on the game and will I am sure be the straw that broke the camel’s back and once and hopefully for all kick this thing out of cricket” Alec Stewart replied

“But guys we do have a game to be played here and Clinton Radford is going to play even after the death of his grandmother last night and the birth of his first two children twin girls, it will be an emotional day for him should he be playing guys” Mark Nicholas said

“If you ask me and I am a bit old fashioned he should play and I am sure he will have a lot on his mind but even if he is not in the right frame of mind it could be an asset he may just take it out on the Australian bowlers and batsmen” Geoffrey Boycott replied

“Geoffrey that being said, if it was me I would not want to play, I would want time off just to get my head together and grieve over the loss I had, had” Michael Vaughan replied

“Me to Michael, I feel the same way, if it was to happen to me I would want to take the time off to grieve to, but I admire him he is very brave to be playing today not only because of what has happened to his grandmother, but he has had two children born on the same night to” Alec Stewart replied

“Well I am hearing guys and this is a shock that he has be named captain today in only his second game to, he is playing because the reports I am having in my ear now is he is playing because it is what is grandmother wanted him to play” Mark Nicholas replied

“Well if that is the case I think it is a good move, having him as captain, if only to take his mind of things and keep it on cricket and if it is true his grandmother wanted him to play they good on him and very brave to do so” Geoffrey Boycott

“Geoffrey I agree with you, it is a brave decision and if he does a good job as captain then it will be proven to be a stroke of genius by the England selectors and he has done the first thing right by winning the toss and he has decided to bat first, a good decision if you ask me this looks a good wicket to bat on and there could be a few runs to be had today” Mark Nicholas replied

“Yes good decision to bat first by Clinton Radford and if England could get Three hundred, three hundred and twenty then they are in with a big chance here and already one up in the series” Alec Stewart replied

“Yes a good decision to bat first but they must bat responsibly and take no chances and they will get the runs on the board and no silly shots and getting themselves out, Clinton Radford is going to be vital if you ask me not only as captain but his batting we saw what he could do in the first game, his fielding is outstanding and his mixture of off-spin and leg-spin is going to be vital today especially later on in the Australian innings when I believe the ball will turn, so yes a good choice to bat first” Geoffrey Boycott replied

   

 

 

 

 

“Right the guys we need to go back to Simon Hughes who has some more breaking news” said Mark Nicholas

 

“Yes, Mark we are getting reports that Clinton Radford is to be questioned by police after the game about his involvement with The Terry Franklin and David Miller scandal, it is believed he will be questioned under caution and I must reiterate that at this stage he has not been accused or is he implemented in the scandal, the police just wish to speak to him at this stage, it is also believed that the arrests of the four cricketers is being linked with the hit and run death of Clinton Radford’s grandmother, this has not been confirmed yet but it is what we are being reported by our sources, for more we can go to Francis Cain who is in out newsroom” Simon Hughes said

 

The broadcast then went to the main newsroom, where a smartly dressed woman with long blond hair was sat in a chair with a computer tablet in her hand.

 

“Yes thank you Simon, our sources are indeed reporting that the main line of enquiry that the police are looking into over the hit and run death of Georgia Thompson and the four cricketers Terry Franklin, David Miller, Brad Cousins and Hugh Price, is that Mrs. Thompson had information that could implicate these four cricketers and a middle east betting syndicate, it is believed that it was Mrs. Thompson who had sent the information on these four cricketers and the syndicate to The Sunday papers, this is being denied by the police who will only say that the information they have has come from a reliable source and that their enquires are ongoing and further arrests could result, as for the questioning of Clinton Radford we are being told by our police source is that this has nothing to do with the earlier arrests of the four cricketers, but to do with the hit and run of his grandmother, they will be looking into all avenues of investigation and leave no stone unturned, Clinton Radford is by no way a suspect and will be treated as a witness, if we receive any more news we will bring it to you straight away on this ever evolving story, for now it is back to the cricket and lets join Mark Nicholas” Francis Cain said

 

“Thank you Francis, well guys that is some news for us to consume, a Middle East betting syndicate and Clinton Radford is not a suspect but a witness, a lot to digest” Mark Nicholas said looking at Michael Vaughan

 

“Yes Mark, a hell of a lot to take in, first I must say good on Clinton Radford for playing today it takes some courage and knowing he will be questioned by police when the game has finished, the fact his grandmother has be killed in a hit and run and the birth of his twins, he will be under a lot of pressure but I am sure he will cope, as for the betting scandal, I am not surprised with there being a middle east betting syndicate and I would not be surprised if this goes deeper, I also believe this is just the tip of the iceberg and there are bigger fish to fry” Michael Vaughan replied

 

“Yes Michael, it is going to be tough for young Radford, but I am sure he will come through, what are your thoughts Alec” Mark Nicholas replied

 

“Yes thank you Mark, It will be tough for Clinton Radford today with so much going on and on young shoulders as well, but I am sure he will manage it well, as for the other stuff, betting is rife in the middle east and  Asia and I like Michael still think that this is the tip of the iceberg, there are bigger fish to fry and the sooner these cheats are flushed out of the game the better, to take money to bowl a no ball, wide or get yourself out, not only cheats your team mates, the team you are playing, the paying public and the TV viewers, but it shouldn’t happen but as we all know it does and as Michael stated earlier it is a multi Billion Dollar industry run by the criminal underworld and the mafia and it is something they will not let you get out of and once you’re in it you are in it for life or they take your life and that of your family” Alec Stewart replied

 

“Strong words there from Alec Stewart, Geoffrey Boycott what is your opinion on what we have just heard and the opinions of Michael Vaughan and Alec Stewart” Mark Nicholas replied

 

“Well Mark, Michael and Alec are right in what they say, Clinton Radford will find it tough out there today with all that has been going on and what is going on at the moment, yes he is young, but as they say these things are sent to test us no matter how old we are, as for the betting scandal, Asia and the middle east is where this is rife and their I am sure some big money men behind it, I have heard that in India they bet on the next ball being a wide, no ball, run or wicket, they bet as little as ten pence, yes folks ten pence, but if you transfer that to some places around the world where, the illegal bookmakers, give you odds of say hundred to one on the next ball being a wide and a massive betting syndicate will bet say thousand pounds on it and win and will put it again on the next ball at odds of say ten to one on that ball being four runs that one bet has accumulated a total of one million pounds, so as you can see it is massive a bookmaker could in a day make hundred million on one days in a test match, but saying that they could lose a hundred million on the same days play and this goes on all around the world especially in Asia and the middle east and that is why I believe there is big money men behind this, the criminal underworld and the mafia and people have been killed” Geoffrey Boycott replied

 

“Thank you Geoffrey, let’s go back to Simon Hughes in the studio, Simon over to you, you have some breaking team news I believe” Mark Nicholas said looking into the camera.

 

“Yes, Mark we have a bit of news for you, Clinton Radford will not take up his role as the opening Batsman that has gone to Marcus Reese, who will open and Clinton Radford will bat at five and play as a batting all-rounder, so that is the news Mark, Marcus Reese will open” Replied Simon Hughes

 

“Well then Michael Vaughan what are your views on that piece of team news, are you surprised?” Mark Nicholas asked Michael Vaughan

 

The Camera spans to Michael Vaughan

 

“Yes Mark I am a bit surprised by this move, he is far better at one or two in the batting order where he can take advantage of the power plays up front, he is a clean striker of the ball over the top and off his legs, so yes I am surprised” Michael Vaughan replied

 

“And Geoffrey what is your opinion?” asked Mark Nicholas looking at Geoffrey Boycott

 

“Well Mark, I am not that surprised, opening the batting, captaining the side and bowling, so I am not surprised and I think five, six or seven will be where you will see Clinton Radford bat in future, Marcus Reese on the other hand is a natural opener and is quite capable to of opening his shoulders and hitting the ball along way over the boundary, but he can play straight and in the V to, so I am not surprised as it will take a little bit of pressure of Clinton Radford on what has been a difficult twenty four or so hours for him” Geoffrey Boycott replied

 

“And Alec what are your thoughts on the move in the batting order?”

 

“Well my thoughts are it is the same as Geoffrey and it is a good move to drop Clinton Radford down the batting order to as Geoffrey also said to take a bit of pressure off him and give him some time to get used to being captain and also gives Marcus Reese a chance to show his worth to the team as an opening batsman, I have seen him play and he knows how to manipulate the ball into the gaps, he reminds me of a right handed Michael Bevan , he was a great finisher of an innings and knew where the gaps were in the field, but also knew when it was time to hit over the top for four or six, so yes I feel it is the right decision at the right time and also I agree that in future you will see Clinton Radford bat at six or seven if you ask me, he is young and enthusiastic, has time to learn the role but captain in the future not too sure, for now yes but in the near future no, let him blood into the side and get used to international cricket he is a find and a prospect for the future and I am sure will have a long a prosperous future in the game, bear in mind he is still a teenager and could and should be around for another  ten to fifteen years” Alec Stewart replied to Mark Nicholas

“Thank you Geoffrey Boycott, Michael Vaughan and Alec Stewart for your views and opinions, my opinion is, the move of Clinton Radford to number five can only benefit England and Radford, he is a talent that can go a long way in this game, right it is time for a break and then it will be down to the game with England batting, so see you after the break bye for now” Mark Nicholas said.  

 

 

 

 

As the game proceeded England were struggling, and Clinton could not lay a bat on the ball for his first ten balls and then he decided to take caution to the wind and decided to charge up the wicket at the Australian bowlers.

 

“Well Mark I think Radford has decided to take on the Australian attack here, after not being able to put bat to ball for ten balls, he has now hit two fours in two balls, England still twenty eight for five” Michael Vaughan commented

 

“Yes Michael, England deep in it, but while England’s Captain Clinton Radford is still there and starting to play some shot and there that one has gone sailing into the stands for six, the last three balls have gone four, four, six” Mark Nicholas said

 

England’s innings was a tense affair but they managed to reach one hundred and eighty seven all out with Clinton highest scorer with eighty nine not out, Australia then proceeded to knock the runs off without losing a wicket and win by ten wickets and Clinton losing his first match in charge of England and gave a very emotional interview to the TV broadcaster.

 

As Clinton was leaving the dressing room, he was approached by to smartly dressed women.

 

“Mr. Clinton Radford, I am DS Mary Evans and this is my partner DC Kathy Morgan, would you please come with us”

 

“May I ask what for and am I being arrested and can I call my solicitor” Clinton replied

 

“Mr. Radford we would like to interview you as a witness over your grandmothers death, you are not being arrested and you are free to go at any time and you may if you wish have your solicitor with you or a close friend or family member” DS Evans replied

Clinton and the two police officers then went to an office that had been set aside for the interview.

 

A hour later Clinton, finished his interview with the police and left the room with a very confused and gaunt look on his face as he had just heard that his grandmother had been involved with a group called Woman against corruption in sport, they were a not well known group but were a group who had tried to stamp out corruption in sport.

 

Women against corruption in sport was set up by Clinton’s grandmother not long before his father’s death with four other women Sandra Thomas, Isabella’s mother, Hayley Hughes and Meredith Torrington and it was believed by the police that it was because of her involvement with this group and their fight against the syndicate is why she was killed.

 

Un be known to Clinton the book his grandmother had left him would open a whole can of worms and revel the boss for who he was, his name, his occupation and the names of the sports people he had corrupted and it would blow the sporting world to pieces, but first Clinton had to get hold of the book read it and set a trap without the police’s involvement, but more importantly get Isabella and the twins to safety out of the boss’s reach.

 

Clinton was sped away in a car from the ground to go to the hospital to be with his new born twins and to do the horrible job of identifying his grandmother’s body.

 

The next few weeks Clinton would get a few shocks and would meet his father the man that he believed to be dead.
